I'm stretching the qualification critieria in featuring this cosy, little Greek cafe/restaurant. Off the sloping
paved area near the top of the Bigg Market in Newcastle City Centre, this small restaurant only has about 10 small tables
and has level access through a wide door.
The toilets inside are totally inaccessible for a wheelchair user, as they are down a narrow spiral staircase.
However, Newcastle City Council has positioned a modern (locked) public toilet in the Bigg Market less than
20m yards from the entrance to Cafe Neon. It is accessible for free via RADAR key or for a charge of 20p. It is
one of those self cleaning toilets.
So for me, if the weather is fine and you don't mind going outside the Cafe Neon to use the toilet facilities, I
consider this restaurant, which served me a very enjoyable meal with good service, to be suitable for my needs.
You need to make up your own mind.
